With funding from the European Union under the EU4Business initiative, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has helped the Da Vinci clinic, a high-profile plastic surgery and aesthetic medical centre from Armenia, to re-brand and introduce a professional website, increasing turnover by 41%.
Established in 2010, Da Vinci started as a clinic specialised in diagnostics of hair diseases and further transplanting, but gradually evolved and started offering multi-profile services, from diagnostics to local surgeries.
Nowadays, the clinic is specialised in plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine, and offers a full range of services, including local surgeries, cosmetology, rehabilitation services as well as diagnostics of skin and hair diseases.
In recent years, the company has been striving to innovate and continuously update its services, introducing new trends as well as investing in new technologies. However, due to the rapidly growing competition, Da Vinci faced difficulties in attracting new customers.
The management realised the need for fundamental changes in the clinic’s marketing policy and development of proper corporate identity, in view of increasing public awareness and attracting new customers, which is where the EBRD and EU4Business stepped in to help.
Support from marketing consultant
Based on the client’s business needs, the EBRD connected Da Vinci with a local marketing consultant who helped them with their marketing policy, developing a brand style and developing a corporate website.
As part of the EBRD’s Advice for Small Businesses programme, the consultant:
- Implemented a detailed market study to define key market trends, specific needs, most efficient corporate positioning and brand identity;
- Developed a brand management and communication strategy;
- Designed and developed corporate and brand identity elements and promotional materials;
- Developed a marketing strategy including communications, promotion and visibility campaigns
- Designed, developed and implemented a professional corporate website.
As a result, one year after the project’s completion, Da Vinci recorded a 38% increase in sales, a 41% increase in turnover, and the number of visitors to its website grew by 875%.
EBRD Advice for Small Businesses
The EBRD Advice for Small Businesses programme, funded in the Eastern Partnership countries by the EU under its EU4Business initiative, aims to promote good management in the SME sector by providing assistance to individual enterprises, helping them to grow their businesses. It supports SMEs to make structural changes and develop new business skills, helping them to thrive and compete in market economies. The programme also enables SMEs to access local consulting services on a cost-sharing basis by providing grants of up to €10,000.
